World Scarf Day 2014

Report by CSL Anita Muscat
1st August 2014

On the 1st August 2014, while at camp, the Group participated in an international initiative called World Scout Scarf Day where current and former Scouts were requested to wear their Scout scarves in public to show their commitment to the "spirit of Scouting" and to make that "spirit" visible: "Once a Scout – always a Scout!"

Participants were invited to post a picture of themselves wearing their scarf on the Facebook page of their National Scout Organisation. Such a photo of our members was included in the Scout Association of Malta's post for the occasion. This in turn was forwarded to the organizing committee. Scarf days have been celebrated since 2007 and are promoted by Scouting organizations throughout the world.
