Mass Commemorating the
50th Anniversary of the Group

Report by CSL Anita Muscat
27th January 2013

The year 2013 marks the 50th anniversary since the setting up of the Victoria Scout Group in 1963.

The first activity to commemorate this occasion was a mass held at St George's Basilica on Sunday 27th January 2013. The group met at the headquarters and marched to the church where the group's chaplain, Mons Joseph Farrugia celebrated mass. During the mass, the members together with the Group Scout Leader (GSL) renewed the Scout Promise. At the end of the mass, the GSL Lorrie Saliba presented a memento to the Archpriest of the Parish of St George, Mons Paul Cardona. Council members and parents attended the mass.

The investiture ceremony of 5 Cub Scouts from the Seeonee Pack was held on the same day at headquarters (before the mass took place).
