Founder's Day 2013 - Church Parade

Report by CSL Anita Muscat

On Sunday 24th February, the Victoria and the Xagħra Scout Groups organized a church parade and mass as part of the district's Founder's day celebrations. The two groups met at Xagħra and marched towards the church. The Archpriest of Xagħra, Can Carmel Refalo celebrated mass. During this mass, the Scouts, together with the District Commissioner for Gozo, Lorrie Saliba reaffirmed their Scout Promise. Mr Brian Beek, former Chairman of Brownsea Island Scout Fellowship, was the special guest for the occasion. Brownsea Island is the place where the first ever Scout camp was held by Lord Baden-Powell in August 1907.

After the mass, the Victoria Scout Group returned to its headquarters in Victoria where David Farrugia and Dorian Ellul of the Seeonee Pack and Clint Bajada and Neil Casha of the Saurday Pack were invested.
