Founder's Day 2013 - District Activity

Report by CSL Anita Muscat
23rd February 2013

On the 22nd February, Scouts worldwide celebrate the birthday of their founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell. The two Scout groups on Gozo, the Victoria Scout Group and the Xagħra Scout Group organized various activities to celebrate this year's commemoration.

The first of such activities was held on Saturday 23rd February 2013 where the groups organized a joint outdoor activity. They met in the square at Munxar and then walked to Xlendi through country lanes and over the cliffs. Upon arriving at their destination, the Scouts were divided into small groups. Various games were organized. These involved different skills such as the creation of their own sign language, testing their memory by remembering the location of certain cards among a whole pack, using their senses to locate objects around them and using their own imagination and feelings to describe what Scouting means for them.
