On the occasion of Remembrance Sunday 2012, some leaders participated in a prayer service and wreath laying ceremony commemorating of the victims of the two World Wars. The service took place on Sunday 11th November 2012 at Independence Square, Victoria. Traditional red poppy wreaths were laid at the foot of the memorial honouring Gozitan victims who perished between 1939 and 1945. As the clock struck eleven, a minute of silence was held.
