Former Group Chairman Mr Joe W Cassar passed away on the 22nd December 2012.

For the last 30 years, Mr Cassar occupied various roles within the council, initially as a member, later as the secretary and finally as the chairman. Mr Cassar was instrumental during the building of the present Scout headquarters as well as its extension. He was also very much involved in the search and purchase of the garage which the group acquired last year, which garage was sorely needed to store the group's equipment. We deeply appreciate all the years of dedicated service and continued efforts to improve the position of the Group.
