The Victoria Scout Group held its annual summer camp at Dwejra from Saturday 27th August to Saturday 3rd September 2011. Around 90 members and leaders attended this camp. Each section – the Cub Packs, the Scout Troop and the Venture Unit – carried out its own programme. Activities included instructions and practical sessions on Scoutcraft, safety at sea, water games, other games in the campsite and its environs, building rafts and a tower, cooking, crafts, swimming, hikes on the cliffs and in the valley near the campsite, an astronomy session, abseiling, kayak excursions, discussions and moments of reflection, cleanups of the area etc, etc.

On Wednesday a fundraising BBQ for over 400 supporters and parents was held. This was followed by a campfire. On Thursday another BBQ and campfire were held at camp. This time the guests were persons with special needs and residents of the ARKA Respite Centre. At the end of the evening, ARKA director Mgr Emanuel Curmi was presented with cheques being the proceeds raised during fundraising activities held by two sections of the group. In July the Scout Troop organized a fishing competition and a BBQ for their friends while in August leaders of Venture Unit organized a 3 day kayaking expedition round the Maltese Islands. The funds collected will help Mgr Curmi in his work to improve the life of persons with disabilities. The ARKA director thanked the Scouts and expressed his gratitude for the continuing support received from the Victoria Scout Group. During each year, the group organizes several activities to raise funds for the organization.

The Chief Commissioner of the Scout Association of Malta - Mr Leslie Bonnici, the International Commisioner - Mr Kevin Camilleri, the Secretary of the Association - Mr Robert Gonzi, Ms Pat Marsh - Asst Commissioner for Administration, Dr Anthony Abela Medici, a member in the Association's Council and some Scouts from overseas paid a visit to the campsite.
