Group meeting–1st October 2011

The Victoria Scout Group held a group meeting at its HQ on Saturday 1st October 2011. During this meeting thirteen new members were introduced to the rest of the group. Six boys—Luke Busuttil, Eaub Farhat, Michael Farrugia, David Galea, Kurt Spiteri and Armando Antonio Xerri—joined the Seeonee Pack. Another four—David Borg, Etienne Cauchi, Carl Galea and Adrian Mercieca—joined the Saturday Pack while Noel Azzopardi, Keith Bajada and Angelo Muscat joined the Troop. They were all welcomed within the group by the Group Scout Leader, Mr. Lorrie Saliba.

After the new members' introduction, it was then time for the investiture and going up ceremonies. Two investitures were held during the meeting, one for Cub Scout George Attard (of the Saturday Pack) and the other for Venture Scout Paul Camilleri. It was then time for the going up ceremony of Cub Scouts Matthias Bajada, Alex Calleja, Marley Caruana, Samuel Falzon, David Mercieca, Jordi Parnis, Samuel Rapa, Christopher Sacco and Gianluca Terribile from the Seeonee Pack and Shaun Axiaq, Neville Azzopardi and William Mizzi from the Saturday Pack who now joined the Troop. The going up ceremony of four Scouts—Matthew Azzopardi, Jacob Azzopardi, Paul Parnis and Joseph Theuma—brought the ceremonial part of the meeting to an end. The Scout Leader also wished these Scouts all the best with their new section, the Unit.

The Group Scout leader, Mr Lorrie Saliba, brought the meeting to end with a short speech.
